Real estate is somewhat seasonal. people like to wait until Spring before they put their homes on the market. It feels like the Spring is here now. Home buyers have been calling. Listings are getting showings and offers. This has been a busy December and it is getting busier as we approach the holidays and the number of homes on the market is at an all time low.
Most years the spring homebuying season actually kicks off in January. It is the homes that are listed sometime in January that often have closed sales in March and April. There is a lot of pent up demand for homes going into 2016. Home buyers are getting an early start and have started shopping for a home while at the same time homeowners are waiting until spring or at least until “after the first”.
