Vote HereNovember the 2, 2010 is election day.  I am writing this a day early because if you are like me and want to make an informed choice you may have some more reading and thinking to do.

One of the problems with the elections is that people don't think.  The politicians don't really tell us what they stand for they just hire that woman with the whiny voice, play dramatic music and display crummy photos on TV and tell us how bad the other candidate is.  Many people don't do any research they just listen to what their political party of choice is saying about how horrible the other political party candidates are.

I have heard so many half truths and out and out lies about candidates and programs this year but I know that many people believe the propaganda and the elctions could be won or lost because of it.  One in five Americans believes that the sun revolves around the earth and that is the same number who believe in alien abductions. These same people may be voting.  I know some really smart people who believe the stories they read or hear that are nothing more than stories. There are so many attack ads and I am so tired of it all.  It will end on Tuesday and no matter who wins we all win by not having to answer the campign phone calls, toss out the political junk mail or listen to the campaign ads on the air waves.

There are people who don't vote.  It is like they are on a higher plane and could not be bothered showing up at the polls. They have a point.  One vote doesn't count and that is a good thing because you might not like the candidates I pick. If you don't vote, remember that I do and so do a lot of people who are like me.

You have a day to do your home work and find out where to go to vote if you don't know already.  The Minnesota Legue of Woman voters web site has a lot of information on it including where to vote and questions answered by candidates and links to their web sites.  The organization is non partisan and the mission is voter education.  It is a chance to read about what the candidates have to say about themselves instead of listening to them trash the other candidate.

There is also a hotline to call for help:
