It is Friday and Fridays are for fun especially Fridays that are part of a 4 day holiday weekend. I got to take the day off yesterday but will be working all day today and most of the weekend. Friends and family seem to think it is wonderful that I am busy and working all the time. I am not exactly sure why that is. Maybe they just want to see me busy so that I don’t have time to get into trouble.
When you have to work extra hours to make a deadline at work does everyone say how wonderful that is? When you get a pay check do people act all surprised and say “oh you got a pay check congratulations” When I work a zillion hours or sell a house I get congratulated. With each house I sell people act all surprised like it is something extraordinary that I have never done before.
People with traditional jobs who work for others work hard too but the pay seems to be tied to going to work and working rather than what is accomplished where as I only get paid if and when I sell a house and that sale closes and of course all the paperwork is done properly and I don’t actually get the check until it has traveled around a bit an gone through the mail and sat in a bank account until it has aged and is ripe enough to cash.
If you are working this weekend congratulations! If you had to work overtime, good job! way to go! If you got a pay check last month congratulations! As I work today I am going to congratulate everyone I see who is working and doesn’t have the day off because it is Friday and Fridays are for fun.
