Gardening in 2023

It is Friday and Fridays are for fun. I’ll admit that gardening is a big part of what makes summer fun for me. This year I have managed to keep most of my plants alive even though it has been an unusually hot and dry spring.

It seems like everything is early except for the plants I started from seeds. The tomato plants and cucumber vines have fruit one or two weeks earlier than expected and some of the perennial flowering plants are blooming early. Last weekend I harvested some peppers, which usually are not ready to pick until July.

The warm weather seems to be speeding things up a bit. Some of my neighbors have noticed this too.
