Back to school

Over the weekend I kept hearing conversations about going back to school.  Children are nervous about starting in a new school or advancing to a higher grade.

I just want to point out that we were all nervous the day school ended last spring for the summer and the children were set free and allowed to roam the mean streets of St. Paul.

Back to school day is a special day for all of us.

Not deep fried

I had to spend a little time at the State fair and I think everyone decided to go yesterday.  There are just so many deep friend foods on a stick to choose from that people can not stay away.  They have tractors out there too and tractors and sexy and never deep fried.

I found these up in the grandstand building and they were a reminder to me that even though I was standing with a zillion of my closest neighbors in near 90 degree heat this too shall pass don’tcha know.

San Francisco this week

I’ll be gone for a few days attending the Inman Connect conference.  I have been a columnist for the Califonia based Inman News for the past five years.  I write a column every week for the real estate industry.  I have ruffled a few feathers over the years and I have made some friends too and documented the housing market crash from a real estate agents point of view.  It will be nice to see some friends and maybe learn a few things.

I will bring my camera and I hope I get to use it.  Please don’t list your house with someone else while I am gone.  I am worth the wait.

Wait for it . .

The snow storm headed our way is going to be epic.  The friendly folks with Nice Ride Minnesota started removing some of the bikes from stations yesterday to make room for the snow plows or more likely so they will not be buried under those huge piles of snow after the snow is plowed.

According to meteorologists at the MPR’s Updraft blog we are looking at 6 to 12 inches of heavy wet snow as it rains and snows for 12 to 18 hours.

Maybe we will have a snow day tomorrow?
