Downtown St. Paul is the Place to be today

The Get Lucky half marathon starts at 8 a.m., the St. Patty’s Day Parade kicks off at noon, the Wild play at the Xcel Energy Center at 1 p.m. and the Gophers could be playing for a WCHA championship at 7 p.m.

The parade is downtown along 5th street between Mears park and Rice Park but organizers have a more confusing way of explaining it and they use maps and junk.

As always there will be a lot of drinking and debauchery and people parking cars in all the wrong places and some will pee on the sidewalks.  I live in the downtown area.  Trust me I know what I am talking about.

St. Paul’s finest will be hanging out to watch for people driving while under the influence so just drink don’t drive.

Please spend as much money as you can in the area.  We have many fine bars and restaurants on West 7th street and some of them have Irish type names like The Liffey and Patrick McGovern’s.

Happy St. Patricks day St. Paul!
