Consider the sidewalk

Sidewalk
Might seem silly to some but I couldn’t live in a place where there are no sidewalks.   I can hop on the sidewalk in front of my house and go to a neighbors house or to a restaurant, coffee shop or park.  The possibilities are endless, because one sidewalk leads to another.   They also present social opportunities. Some of the best conversations happen on sidewalks.

  1. Yes I agree, Having sidewalks is a wonderful thing. It seems to make the neighborhood, well, much more neighborly.

  2. Hi Teresa, Sidewalks add a nice “Andy Hardy” ambience to a neighborhood not to mention the fact that you don’t have to walk in the street. The trend in the West is to have a sidewalk on only one side of the street, if at all. Two factors that may have influenced this trend, beside cost and space, is the personal accident liability issues. Also,in most cities the responsibilty for sidewalk maintenance belongs to the homeowner.

  3. I agree with you. I really love having a sidewalk. Sometimes it’s nice to walk around.
