We have a few turkeys like that out here in California – like the De Young Museum in San Francisco.
There was a lot of opposition to the recent remodel, but they did it anyway.

The de Young is an interesting one – I wasn’t fond of it at first (missed the old one) but have grown to like it more and more.
I find the interior spaces are very good … better than SFMOMA (which I like from the outside) and NY MOMA.
