The coffee maker under the tree

It is Friday and Fridays are for fun.  Christmas is just a few days away.  My husband and I both love coffee and we have not had a decent coffee maker for a couple of years.  We kind of hung onto one that didn’t work out very well and have not had a decent coffee maker for two years.

This year we decided to get ourselves a coffee maker for Christmas.  It is in a box sitting under the tree we bought it on sale last weekend.

We decided to wrap it so we can be surprised on Christmas when we open it.  It gives us both something to look forward too.  I’ll admit I have shaken the box a few times and I can’t wait to open it on Christmas and see what is inside.

We had quite a discussion yesterday about using the coffee maker before Christmas instead of wrapping it just incase the world really does end today.

It would be sad if we never got to use it and on some level I believe that we should live each day like it is our last day on earth but there is also something to be said for having hope for the future.

The world has not ended yet and the present is still under the tree.  So far so good.

  1. I bought Adrian a bunch of nice dress clothes a few days ago that he picked out himself at the mall. Those are also going under the tree until Christmas.

I’ll just bet there are shirts maybe even socks under out tree. 🙂

  3. For me – coffee is the 5th food group. It all started when I was given a mug at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where I did my post-graduate work. On the mug was a picture of the school’s namesake along with the caption “Sleep is only relative.” Seven years of sleep deprivation later there was no going back. Its all made worse by the fact that we have a roaster in Tarrytown -about 20 minutes away from me, that has some of the best roasted blends anywhere…Way too near and way too tempting. But for the coffee maker – I go low-tech. French Press…So I save money on the coffee maker and spend it on the beans….

I don’t make the coffee I jus drink it and I must say it tastes great.
