No indoor voice

It is Fridays and Fridays are for fun.   It hasn’t been snowing much

lately, but it hasn’t been warm enough to need airconditioning most nights either so we have been sleeping with the windows open.

We have some neighbors who apparently because of some kind of birth defect and can only talk loudly.   When they get in or out of their cars they do so loudly and we always know when they are outside.

I can hear almost every word they say and I know a lot about them as they have those conversations in the middle of the night . . you know the conversations you have outside in the front of your house using your loudest outdoor voice when they should be using a much softer late night don’t disturb the neighbors indoor voice.

We should probably meet them they are our neighbors  We already know their names and where they work and the names or their dogs and what they don’t like about each other but they probably don’t know anything about us.

Do you use your indoor voice when you go outside at night?

  1. I *do* use my indoor voice when I go outside at night. Or early in the morning.

I also had my dealer switch off the “feature” that honks the horn when I set my car’s alarm. I can hear the door locks work and see the car’s lights flash; why do I need an obnoxious honk at late hours as well?

It’s too bad that people never seem to consider that they’re only 50 or 60 feet away from other people who may not share their enthusiasm for the moment.
