I live near some apartments. At the end of the month, a lot of furniture and household goods get tossed into dumpsters. It is often cheaper to replace items than it is to move them and sometimes people move into small places or they move onto the streets.
We never really think about the environmental cost of moving. Maybe we should. Moving seems to generate a lot of trash.
