It is Friday and Fridays are for fun. In Minnesota when we look at homes I usually can not wait to go into the basement and see the furnace. My clients will tell you that some furnaces merit a wolf whistle from me and that I touch furnaces and sometimes want to hug them.
Last week I wrote about how we had our furnace serviced and the technician recommended replacement which was not a surprise. The furnace made these noises and our heating bills were pretty extreme and we were cold most of the time and there were some other indications that our furnace was struggling.
This week we got our new furnace. It is very sexy and 96% energy efficient too. It looks like a large mini fridge. Now I won’t have furnace envy when I go into other people’s basements. In fact now some should be jealous of me because I can control and monitor my furnace with an app on my phone, which should make life real interesting for other members of our household who do not have the app on their phones. 🙂

Ours was 24 years old which is old for a forced air furnace. We should have replaced it sooner.
