Downtown is a quirky little place

We have the cutest downtown.  Downtown St. Paul is beautiful but is a quirky little place that almost seems like a different planet.  I love our downtown and today I am going to share three things with you about downtown condos that you may not know.

1.  The condo buildings with the most units in them usually have the greatest number of units on the market.  Do not be alarmed by the number of Realtor lock boxes in the entryway . . unless of course there is one for every unit in the building.

2.  This photo was taken by me in February of 2008.  I included it with a bunch of photographs that I took of a loft I listed.  Sometimes with a small loft it is hard to get twenty pictures so I include hallways, laundry rooms, lobbies and even nearby parks.  I have no idea what I was thinking when I took this shot but it has been used by several other agents for their listings.

One agent stole it and then another stole it from that agent.  Right now it shows up on two listings and both units are listed through the same office.

It isn’t a big deal to me but I think it is bad karma for the other agents.  I have been looking at some numbers and listings with stolen pictures even if they are just of a sign stay on the market 30% longer than other listings.

How do I know this is my photo?  I know.  Part of it has to do with the 7 lights and the angle of the photo and a couple of other things about it.

3.  Not every person with a real estate license undertands condos or sells them.  Few agents understand downtown St. Paul.  Some Minneapolis agents have trouble finding it but they will advertise on their web sites that they sell downtown condos.

I could tell you so much more . .
