Absorption Rates for the 7 county metro

Happy Martin Luther King day.  I would imagine that some have the day off and others do not.  Did you know that at the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize?  Well now you do and that was in 1964.

Absorption rates are a calculation of how long it will take for all the homes on the market to be sold, or absorbed, at the current rate of homes sales and with the current number of homes on the market. I do love numbers and these numbers are in months, the data used came from the RMLS, (MLS) and is deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Sadly there are no guarantees in life.
These are for the seven county metro area, which is like the 13 county metro area except smaller.

Anoka County 8.2 Months
Carver County 8.6 Months
Dakota County 8.8 Months
Hennepin County 8.8 Months
Ramsey County 9.0 Months
Scott County 9.1 Months
Washington County 8.1 Months

There you have it.  Up slightly from last month but that is do be expected since this report includes Christmas and New Years holidays. the local housing market appears to be fairly stable.  It is a buyers market as it has been for the last few years.

For more local numbers please see:  Local Market Conditions and Home Prices.
