Pioneer Building – Robert Street Side

The Pioneer building was built in 1889 and housed the Pioneer Press Newspaper. The building to  the left in the picture is the Endicott building.

Interior Atrium – Pinoneer Endicott

You can see the construction as you walk by the Pioneer Endicott buildings and you can see it in the skyway.  The spaces are being converted into apartments and retail space.  

The Endicott  building was built in the 1890 and designed by Cass gilbert.

The buildings are connected and on the national register of historic places.

  1. Do you happen to know how far along they are with construction of the apartments? We are planning to move downtown this summer and I would love to have this building be among my possible choices. The atrium is just gorgeous.

      They are working on it but I don’t know when it is supposed to be ready to move in to. 🙂

      1. Well I see they at least have put lights in the atrium. The last time I snuck in there to snap a picture it still looked like the atrium hadn’t been touched in decades.

    Is this the “old Endicott Building” that Maynard G. Krebs on the Dobie Gillis Show
    said he was watching being torn down?
