The last Friday of 2022

It is Friday and Fridays are for fun. It was a weird Christmas but we did manage to assemble the family for the first time since 2019. It almost didn’t happen because of subzero weather and icy roads.

Our car battery died so we did not have transportation starting last Thursday until Tuesday when we got a jump start and a new battery. The battery and the labor needed to install it was covered under warranty.  The warranty did not cover any of the inconvenience.

It was cold last week but I did manage to walk to the grocery store on Christmas eve which was a good thing. There are a few other ways to get groceries but it is nice to live in the city where I can walk to the store if needed. Some of my neighbors were at the store and I know I could have asked for a ride.

I thought the biggest challenge would be the cold and the windchill but I was wrong. It was the snow and ice-covered sidewalks. It isn’t easy to drag a grocery cart through snow drifts. The exertion did keep me warm.

There were so many people stuck at airports over the holidays. I think it is much better to be stuck at home. We had a nice dinner on Christmas eve with our family.

I am looking forward to the end of 2022 and to the new year, most especially all of those Fridays.
