Road Trip

It is Friday and Fridays are for fun.  I won't be having too much fun today, but I had a great time last week.  I spoke at the ReTechSouth Conference in Atlanta Georgia on Friday.  It was a wonderful event, in a beautiful place with people that I really enjoy spending time with.  Real estate technology conferences can be kind of all the same and sort of two years ago but this one was good with short sessions led by people who know their stuff.  I usually fly to conferences but decided to drive instead, and my husband came with me.   It was an amazing experience because we got to watch spring happen, and got some time off which neither of us have had since Christmas I think.

I took  photos of the scenery along the way. How long does it take to drive from St. Paul, MN to Atlanta Georgia?  About 17 hours. I enjoyed every minute of it and when we got back I felt like I had taken a month off even though I spoke three times at the conference, went to some meetings, dinners, and parties and then spent half the day Saturday on the cell phone with clients. My blackberry also has access to the MLS so I can do a lot from the car as long as it isn't my turn to drive, and as long as I don't have to take a photo of something as we go flying by.

There is nothing like a road trip. It is too bad that we usually don't have time for them. If we had flown I never would have gotten to take a picture of a moose butt in Wisconsin, or the shack in Tennessee with patches of daffodils blooming in front of it or the railroad sign in Illinois, that looks like it is winking and waving. I would have gotten the shot of the red buds because they are everywhere in Georgia, and were a welcome sight after all the snow and cold of a Minnesota winter.  It was the barns that were the most fun to take pictures of.  We have them in Minnesota but not in the city . . well there are a few in the city but not many.

Have a great weekend, and get ready for spring it is only about 300 miles away and advancing quickly. I have seen it and it is spectacular!

  1. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Atlanta Teresa! I feel guilty I could not attend being that you drove 17 hours! I’m glad you made time on your trip to “stop and smell the roses”!

  2. Nice post. The “shack” in TN is a tobacco barn.
