Empty shelves and fewer choices

There is plenty of food at the grocery store but there are also more empty shelves.  I am learning to be more flexible.  I am most thankful that I know how to cook and improvise when I can’t find exactly what I want.

I have led such a privileged life with a seemingly unlimited supply of food. I haven’t noticed any empty spaces in the chip or snack aisle. Just in produce, frozen foods, bakery, and meat. Last winter I had a hard time finding dried beans, rice, and pasta. I can find all three this year but there are fewer choices. Prices on some items seem to go up each week too.

I only wanted one loaf of bread and they happened to have the whole wheat bread I usually buy.
