Flowers that Float

Water Lillie

Beautiful Day

It is fun to travel and visit other cities in other states, but I have to say St. Paul, Minnesota is a beautiful place and I seem to get the best photos around town and even in my own backyard.  These were taken in Como park just outside of the conservatory. Not far to travel for me and I noticed a lot of cars in the parking lot with out of state license plates.  Lillie pads can be found on local lakes. They grow here in the wild.  These flowers are tame, which makes them easier to photograph.

  1. Teresa,

Great photos, and taken without being in a canoe or boat? Having grown up on a river myself, I can well recall when the water lilies would open. Thanks for prompting some nice memories!

These were taken at the conservatory, one of the few places I can take shots like these from land.

  3. These pictures remind me of a lake near Ellensburg, quite beautiful! I really like how the top flower has a reflection, great pictures!

  4. Absolutely stunning photos! I captured a few of those last summer when I went to Vancouver, Canada last year. Ahh, how I miss those days. Fine job Teresa, can’t believe you took these shots from land, I thought you were in a boat or something until I read your comment
