Could this Happen with A Real Estate Blog?
Most of us can not be fired but we can be asked to stop writing our blogs. I have been asked, rather often, if I am worried about it. Yes I do worry that I will be asked to stop writing my blogs, or maybe I would be asked to delete this one. LOL. I do have a plan. I have a brokers license and am ready to go out on my own at any time.
Is having a blog really that important? Yes it is from both a business point of view, and becasue I enjoy the freedom. Freedom is more important to me in my life than money. If it were not I would be working in a nice secure job with a predictable pay check. I instead work in a business where the failure rate is very high, and in a down market.
After reading these last two paragraphs I have decided that I am totally stark raving mad and that I should get help soon. . . . but you knew that already.

"Freedom is more important to me in my life than money" Can we talk?

I've been feeling some heat lately from my broker about colleagues and broker powers that be who are not happy with a number of my blog posts. I'm thinking don't these people have something better to do than judge my sense of humor#@#!!@@## Pretty lame.
I already have an exit plan. If it gets to where my broker wants me to cool it. I'll take my 40+ transactions (myself and associate) over to Frank's house at FranklyRealty--haha.
He could keep me entertained, eh?

I have no desire to be my own broker, but I have my broker's license- just in case. Yes, my blog is that important.
Thankfully my company has been teaching agents how to blog. I hope that never changes!

I agree with you that having a blog is an important thing. I work for one of realtors Toronto and I feel the same about blogging. I think that having the freedom to express your opinions and be honest is very important. Fortunately, my colleagues and me don't have this problem and I hope that we won't have in a future.

I was told at my last brokerage to take the blog down.
Not because of anything I said but because I was getting leads and was outranking the company website.
I started at my new brokerage two weeks later.
