Please don't judge me by my page rank
Oh it is so true. We are often judged by our page rank. It is just wrong. There is so much more to life than PR. I will openly admit that I have friends who are 2's or 3's. An SEO expert from www.godaddy.com recently told me that a PR 6 or above is just about impossible.
He laughed at me when I told him about my PR 5 site that just won't move up. (I am not exaggerating, he did laugh at me) There are other 5's out there who are seriously depressed by the situation. They are asking that I either be moved down to a 4 or that they be moved up to a 6. Sad to say but the world just doesn't work that way. Google makes the decisions and we don't get to know why.
I know that if I should lose my page rank I will also lose most of my friends. If I can keep it above a 4 I will have plenty of friends but if it slips below I will be eating lunch alone again, by myself, lunch for one, solo, just me . . It is indeed a harsh world we live in and few people have time for the 0 to 3's.
When meeting a new blog or blogger try to look beyond the page rank. It is what is inside that counts. Try to think back to a time when you were a 0. How did it make you feel?
Teresa...don't be so hard on yourself...I checked "St. Paul Real Estate" this morning on Google and you are 2. :)

Thanks Dave. I was a long climb and I can't believe it myself. I get calls from tech companies asking me if I would like to be number one. I tell them that I already am. :)

I am just a 3 across the board on my blogs and website. I think it will be a while before I move up. Linking is so important and right now only a few know I am out there. I'll keep blogging though. How long was it before you starting getting popular? Since I wasn't there when you started I have no idea when you got famous! :)

We did not know our page rank until someone told us (they wanted to advertise on our blog). We told him we didn't put much faith in PR & who cares except techies and he said --oh yeah--check your Google visitors. Not knowing that a PR 6 was anything to celebrate, we discovered that our visitors from Google organic search had risen dramatically. Maybe the PR had something to do with it. Not only that, but our text link ads filled up and they raised the ad rate. Hmm.. maybe we should have been paying more attention....nah

Now Sellsius has listed this as a nominee for one of the funniest real estate blog posts of 2007. I have to agree. I was laughing hardily at this one. I'll keep reading your stuff no matter what your page rank falls (or rises) to.

I didn't even know what my page rank was until recently, and I didn't really care all that much because I get business off my sites. That's what matters to me.
Hmm, choosing friends based on page rank - how funny! "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful"... "Don't hate me because of my page rank"... where would be be with Pantene and Page Rank!!??!!? Or maybe it's Loreal...... ;-)

Wow! I wish everyone else knew this. I got all excited walking into a conversation where I planned to announce I was #6. I expected silent awe, a cheering crowd, and maybe a huge bottle of champagne. What I got was "That's worthless, It means nothing" I guess bubbly before noon is not a good fantasy anyways...back to the happy world of the blog
