The Building – History
The Rossmor was built in 1916 as the Foot Schulez Co. building, a shoe and boot manufacturer. Before the conversion in 2002, The building was used as affordable living for artists. The Rossmor retains its rich history in the arts by sponsoring the Art Crawl twice a year and has original creations throughout the common areas of the building.

Located at the northern edge of downtown St. Paul, the Rossmor Building is a well known landmark on the city’s skyline. Finished at the end of 1918, it has served as manufacturing warehouse, office and artist studios. The renewed Rossmor retains its vibrant mix of tenants and users on the street level. The upper six stories have been converted to live/work units for artists and other creative tenants.

The loft style residences of the Rossmor are all unique, each has it’s own unique layout. Some units have views of the State Capitol building. Custom cabinetry was designed to express a fresh clean look, and the existing concrete floors were cleaned and sealed to maintain the urban appeal of the building. High ceilings and an open floor plan, leaves room for interpretation for each unit owner.
