Howweroll

I really hate rules but over the years I have had to make some for this site.  This page has some of the rules and answers to some questions that I get on a regular basis. This blog was established in the Fall of 2005.  It was an idea I had that got out of hand. There were not any local real estate blogs at the time and it was a fairly new idea in the real estate industry that started it catch on in 2007. Today there are a zillion real estate blogs.

Advertising
I try to keep this site as non-commercial as possible. If you look around you won’t see any ads. I occasionally advertise my listings and promote local small businesses but no one is paying for the ads.  For local businesses, that means brick and mortar establishments located in St. Paul Minnesota, tell me your story and let me bring my camera to your place of business. That is the easiest way to get a free ad.

I don’t send spam to anyone and I would appreciate it if businesses stopped sending it to me.

Comments

Comments are most welcome and they are not held in a que, they go live almost immediately.  I am prepared to blow them away if they are inappropriate. Comments that don’t agree with my post are also welcome.  Comments from persons wanting a link from my high ranking blog pages are not welcome and usually get blown away. I can also ban commenter’s and I have some great spam filters.

When you comment your email address is not published. I can see it but I don’t share it with third parties and I don’t send spam.  Occasionally there are comments that require lengthy responses and I do send an email directly to the commenter.

Content

The content on this site is original. I don’t pay anyone to write and I don’t use other peoples content. I created the blog myself in 2005.  The content comes from every day experiences as a Realtor and a life long resident of St. Paul, MN. It is my content and I am aggressive when it comes to stopping plagiarism. I have gotten very good at dealing with it and am able to stop it.

I am always looking for ideas and I welcome guest posts. The guest authors who currently write for the blog are neighbors.

Education

Some of the readers of this blog have heard me speak or have attended my classes. I have presentations and classes on how to create a blog and how to use various social media sites and web 2.0 applications. Most of the presentations are geared toward marketing for small businesses like mine.  I also have a presentation on how to use flickr, the photo sharing site.  For more information I can be contacted at 651.216.4603 or Teresa(at)Tboardman.com

Site

This website is a blog. Hosted at Typepad.com. It has been highly customized by modifying the CSS. See the bottom of the page for more information about the design.

Photos

Most of the photos on this site are my own. Please don’t take them without asking. I have a page with more information about the photos and the equipment I use to take them. Some of my photos are used by other web sites with my permission. One is on the cover of a book and another on a flier used to promote Minnesota tourism.

Spelling

I try, No one is perfect and yes it takes a lot of courage for a person like me to publish a blog. I have a learning disability. I don’t use it as an excuse but it does make writing a challenge. I have on occasion spoken at high schools on how to write and what to write. I like to inspire people to at least give it a try. It is worth the hard work and I don’t get embarrassed anymore when someone mentions the spelling. I do the best that I can and it gets a little better each year.

Statistics

This site has a lot of local housing number on it. I do double and triple check my numbers.  They come from our MLS, I download them into MS Excel and that is how I get the charts, and graphs, totals and averages. I am always prepared to show my math and the numbers.  Yes I can make a mistake, if you find one please let me know.
