St. Paul MN

at 21 feet

I have not had much of a chance to take pictures of the flood but last night I walked down and took a few. For comparison and contrast I have a picture of the great flood of 2014 where the river is up over 20 feet and the great spring floods of 2010 when the river was a couple feet lower.

This picture is of the spot where I stood in 2010 to take a picture of the marker in the river that shows the water level.

The water level was at about 18 feet in this picture and today it is up over the 20 foot mark almost to the 21 foot mark. I have lived with in site of this river for most of my life but have always lived in the bluff. Most of the land affected by the flood is parkland. I don’ think any homes are threatened. I am sure there ate a lot of wet basements from all the rain that caused the flood.

  1. I live in Eagan, and I see the devastation of the rain we have had. Lots of ponds flowing over, etc.

It’s too bad we can’t pump it over to White Bear lake. They are still about 4′ down.
