Here are some local real estate numbers for the month of April 2014. Home sales were up from March as they should be as April and May are often the months with the highest number of home sales. The Average home price went up by $10K while the median sale price went down slightly from $153,500 in march to $149,990 in April.
The number of new listings is up from March 2014 as are the total number of homes for sale and the number of sales.
These numbers are taken from our most excellent Northstar MLS and the numbers are deemed reliable but not guaranteed. I import the data in to an Excel spreadsheet to get numbers and averages. These numbers represent most of the homes, townhouses and condos that were sold in April 2014 in the city limits of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Home prices are not as high as they were ten years ago but the housing market continues to recover and each year there are more homeowners who have enough equity to sell.
