I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some numbers for home sales in St. Paul and compare the last three years. In 2012 we started to feel the housing market recover. We can see it in the chart below with the number of home sales in St. Paul and the dollar value of those sales.
There were a lot more foreclosures on the market in 2011 than there were in 2013 and that accounts for much of the increase in average sale prices. Overall the average home sale price in St. Paul was higher than it was in 2001 but slightly lower than what we saw in 2002. The number of home sales was lower in 2013 than it was in 2003.
