Here we go with the snow again. I have to say so far we have had a very Minnesota January. It is likely that most of us will spend more time indoors and less time outdoors. If you are planning on selling your home this year now it a great time to get it ready. I am not going to write one of those lists of the 10 things you need to do to get your home ready because I have not seen your home and I don’t know what needs to be done. Most homes need cleaning, de-cluttering and some minor repairs and possibly some painting.
It isn’t hard to freshen up a home with some new curtains, rugs and perhaps some throw pillows. For very little money bathrooms and bedrooms can have mini makeovers. I discourage homeowners from spending any more money than they have to when getting a home ready for sale, unless they are spending it on repairs. Buyers often ask for significant price reductions for insignificant home repairs. If the repair costs $500 they will want to pay 2,000 to 10,000 less for the home.
If you are not planiing on moving this year you can still stay inside and clean, organize or fix something or not . . .
