For Home buyers

Sold “as is”

The phrase "as is" confuses buyers.  All it really means is that the home will be sold the way that it is.  The seller will not make any repairs and what you see is what you get.  Buying a home as is does not mean that the buyer can not have an inspection and it doesn't mean that the seller can lie about defects or try to hide them.   Smart buyers make inspection contingent offers and have the home inspected, that way they know what kind of condition 'as is' is.

What does this have to do with valentines day? Nothing.

Most relationships start “as is”, although plenty of people should probably ask for better terms.
