Demolition of the xcel energy high bridge plant continues. We can hear the jackhammers and heavy equipment from up on the river bluff. The stack was removed in June of 2008. It seems that they are taking the rest of the building down one brick at a time and making a mess too.

Nice photo.
This is a most interesting recycling project. As the pieces are taken down one at a time, they are sorted into many piles. I have heard some of them are toxic substances, so there is a fair amount of caution involved. Then the piles are loaded onto barges and taken to who knows where. I agree that this is taking a long time, but I am glad they are being careful. Looking forward to seeing green space in that spot.
