We just had our first snow and already people are talking about spring. They call or send an email and they want to get started on the process of selling their home but they don't want it on the market until spring.
I am here to tell you that each of the homes I listed last winter sold. The same with the homes I listed the winter before. It is alright to wait until spring but homes can be sold anytime of the year.
I said this last year and I will say it again this year I don't know that the housing market is going to be any better in the spring than it is right now. It could be worse in the spring but maybe not because like I said I don't know. No one knows. If they say they do they are making stuff up.
Home buyers don't have to wait until spring either so it all works out pretty well.

It’s funny — sure, more buyers come out of the woodwork, but so do more sellers. I’ve often found that by putting your home on the market in the Fall/Winter, you get less traffic, but the buyers who are out looking are SERIOUS buyers.
In that case, selling your home in the fall/winter can actually be a more pleasurable experience!
I think the point is that we just don’t know what is going to happen. It is pointless to speculate. If you need to sell, then put your house on the market. If you find a good house for a good price, then buy it.
We all know what happens to those who assume
Well with the economy officially in a recession as of today and the DOW down nearly 700 points it looks like things aren’t going to be getting better anytime soon. All of the politicians are saying things are going to get worse before they get better, not that they necessarily know what they’re talking about but if they’re right it would be better to sell now vs. waiting until spring.

Uncertainty of economic times and the mortgage fallout have created a sense of insecurity about the real estate market. But the good thing is that homebuilders have slashed the prices of their new homes to lure buyers. So this is the good time to buy or to sell, instead of waiting for the spring. A smart move may help in the long term positive aspects.
