Were there really only six open houses in St. Paul last Sunday? No there were more than that. I happened to look at the real estate section of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. It is only 16 pages long and the pages are half the size of the standard size newspaper. Of the 16 pages 9 pages contain listings from all over the metro area and of those listings there were only 6 ads for open houses in St. Paul.
The 'Jobs' section of the paper was even smaller, 8 pages, and again the pages are half the size of a standard newspaper page. The print is too small to actually read but I could see the logos of major companies who are hiring. Apparently they only hire people who have better eye site than I do.
Both sections of the paper used to be bigger. I have not read them in a long time because I don't have any reason to.
Realtors don't advertise much in the paper any more. It is expensive and it isn't as effective as it was a few years ago.
Even though much of the news is on the internet I still like to have the Sunday paper. It isn't the same as looking at it on a computer screen.

Well, I guess Firefox succeeded in my case. I can’t stand reading a newspaper, thinking about how many trees had to die to get to my hands, and I also am into my RSS Feeds now so I miss that “quick scanning” I get from my online experience…
You don’t have streaming video with a newspaper…
Yeah, the market isn’t what it was!
That sounds like the amount I see here in Solon, though we are much smaller than you are. Hope things pick up for ya!
