Let’s Welcome G.

"Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste." - Rolling Stones, "Sympathy for the Devil"

The lead-in quote for my first guest blog post is perfectly deceptive. Wealth: I've never even had five figures in my bank account. Taste: My interests tend to lean toward the undercurrents and alleyways rather than what's alluring. I'm also firmly in the Beatles camp, and I have no sympathy for true evil (although I did feel bad for the Dallas Cowboys after their 1-15 season).

I could have just started with a simple "Let me introduce myself," but that wouldn't really be saying anything. Right off, I think it's good to talk about my lack of greenbacks and blue blood, because what I don't have in status colors, I make up for with an affinity for coloring the local canvas in much broader prismatic strokes. You see, I was born to play booster for my underdog hometown, the "lesser" twin, Latimer's lair, Norm's dorm, Coleman's crib, the vastly underrated St. Paul, Minnesota. Where Keillor and
Soucheray leave off, I am ready to pick up with gusto.

When Teresa graciously offered a popular sounding board by way of the St. Paul Real Estate Blog, I had to accept.

So hi there. I'm Greg Sax, but I tend to go by just "G." Gee! It's an uptempo letter and has a nice, roundy shape that I can relate to. For work, I'm a communications and marketing guy across the river at the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS, and that's how I've come to have a voice in real estate and how I found Teresa Boardman.

I was finally ready to buy after too many years as a renter, and once I explored this here blog, I just knew.

I tried to be open to other things, but this was clearly it. So I made a play for her services. She accepted. We tromped around the Cities in last year's autumn rain. And now I'm typing this from my very own home in the North End.

I totally love my neighborhood, and I'll be writing more about my own little version of Shoeshine Boy right along with the East Side, Frogtown, Midway, and the mostly unheralded places that need good residents, too. We can't all live on Summit Avenue, like my boys Garrison and F. Scott. But there's plenty of room in the city of St. Paul, and from where I'm sitting (with a Cathedral view, no less!), it's all good.

Thanks Greg, the pleasure is all mine. Greg is planning on writing about St. Paul. He is an excellent writer, I used to ask him if I could use his emails to me for blog posts. :) As a client I found him to be kind of a smart ass but he pointed out to me that I attract people like myself through my blog.  No offense to any of my clients who might be reading but Greg is not the only smart ass I have worked with. :)
