I guess this is the first live coverage of the 2008, RNC

The news media seem to be everywhere. They have set up trailers in the parking lot of Travelers Insurance, across the street from the Xcel center and have cables running from the trailers into the convention center.

Grass has just been planted in the fenced in area.  Grass is being re-planted where the drought killed it. We don’t want anyone to be thinking about global warming during the convention and what it is doing to St. Paul.  The flower baskets around the center are red and white.  I guess they figure the sky will be blue. Local residents are being asked to plant red, white and blue flowers.

There are elephants at the St. Paul Hotel, they did an amazing job with the landscaping this year and it looks wonderful. When I stopped by for some pictures there were hotel guests walking through the gardens taking pictures and commenting on how beautiful is is.

The city did try to reduce the pigeon population before the convention.  Apparently they have an agreement with the pigeons, to not poop on any republicans. This photo was taken in Rice park about a block away from where the convention will be held.
