It is Friday and here o
n my blog Friday’s are for fun. Not sure if I am making fun of myself or some people from Texas who don’t understand cold weather.
I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago on Agent Genius, a kind of industry blog, read by Realtors, outlining the difficulties I encounter during the brutally cold days we have been experiencing here in Minnesota.
The creators of the blog work in Austin Texas and they just don’t get Minnesota. Benn Rosales dared me to take a picture of myself wearing the clothing that I described in my blog post.
When it comes to being able to work all day in sub-zero weather, often showing unheated houses, we all have to do what we have to do. I explained to Benn and to his wife Lani, that not just anyone can pull this look off. I think here in Minnesota we are so above average that we can pretty much wear anything and make it work.
I agreed to send Benn the photo but told him if I did he had to publish it. I am thinking that our customs and ways here are just too strange for the people who live in warmer climates, becasue he never published it.
If Benn were here right now, he would be shivering. They are not built like we are and able to handle a 120 degree temperature range. Our weather would make Benn cry.
It is supposed to warm up this weekend. I definitely have plans to go outside without the hat, I might even wear a shorter coat and leave the scarf at home.
Have a great weekend, and do something fun.

Teresa, you are adorable in your ear flap hat and coat! I’m with you – very grateful that we can actually be outside this weekend and the weather is supposed to be above 20 (highs) for the next 10 days! We have different standards for nice weather in this part of the world.
Teresa,
I’m from Texas too, by way of Dallas – Plano, we are spoiled down here and Austin is a bit warmer than Dallas. I lived in Edina for 3 years growing up so really appreciate your stamina to get out in the COLD! You need to charge more to keep your image up, love the outfit and I bet it works. Quick question…once it’s below zero can you tell the difference when it’s 20 below?
Teresa, you simply beat me to it, in fact, I’m having Lani send you a photo I hand picked as a reply for you- and you’re right, I wouldn’t last 20 seconds in that kind of cold! How in the world do you keep your heart beating and your blood from freezing, is it antifreeze?
You look like a nun.
Jonathan – Behave your self!
Brrrr. I’m telling ya T, *think Phoenix*.
Stay warm!
-20 makes you appreciate +20 that much more… today it hit 30 & I was able to go without a jacket!
Spring is coming soon…
I was thinking the same thing as Jonathan.
) I can’t imagine people could even consider moving in the winter. Your weather would make me cry too. Of course, I don’t own long johns or a wool coat!
That’s a good look
Being from Minneapolis/St. Paul stock myself I know just how cold that cold is. My husband had an endless project at White Bear Lake a number of years ago, so I came up and we went to the ice carving show downtown. My nose hairs froze! I was so cold I was numb but the ice carvers were in shirt sleeves. My uncles there are the same way but my blood runs on warmer air now…
