Minneapolis is not far away. Unfortunatly the best place to get a photo like this is on the on ramp of I94E. My camera has a built stabilizer, but I still have to slow down before I fire one off and listen to the horns honking behind me. Some days I honestly don’t know if it is worth it. I am not sure why St. Paul and Minneapolis are called the Twin Cities, I guess that will have to be the subject of another post. One of my favorite mortgages blogs is out of Minneapolis, Behind the Mortgage. I hate to send my buyers to Minneapolis for a loan but Alex makes it worth their while and I think he can find his was over here too.
During the last few months I have spent a bit of time in Minneapolis. I am noticing the Realtors over there don’t like to use electronic lock boxes. I am not sure why but I have learned to roll with it. Some of my clients move from Minneapolis to St. Paul, and some move from St. Paul to Minneapolis.

I have an unrelated question: What can you tell me about buying a duplex? Is a “duplex” always a house that is solid as two separate units? What kind of ownership arrangements are there for the two owners?
Thanks,
–Steve
Steve – what we call a duplex around here is usually one building with two units in it. They are most often sold as one, not separately. When they are split into condos each is separately owned. This is more common with units that are side-by-side maybe becasue they are more likely to have seperate utilities. Often there is what is called a common wall agreement rather than an association. The agreement deals with how exterior repairs are handled.
