Friday’s are for fun and this is the first Friday of summer. The people in the picture are making repairs to the roof of our beautiful St. Paul public library. It doesn’t look like fun to me. Real estate isn’t always fun either and is certainly not for wimps or whiners. We work 23 hours a day 8 days a week but get to have fun on Fridays. It takes courage and stamina to have fun.
I don’t like heights much. I won’t say I am afraid of heights, it is the idea of falling that bothers me. The concept of gravity is easy to understand. I admire people who can climb tall ladders. When I try it the ladder shakes. I have been known to drive down the middle of the road when driving over bridges. I don’t do it on purpose, my car kind of drifts away from the edge, it seems to have a self preservation instinct of it’s own.
Have a great weekend, have fun, stay away from the edge and buy real estate.

I’m terrified of heights, I’ve never been able to figure out what draws people into a profession like that. Must be decent pay at least.
Heights . . . I’ve hated them all my life. But once I turned 50 I found myself at the top of a 15 foot ladder taping a vaulted ceiling over a stairway. The ladder had wings on the bottom and braces on the top to help deter slipping and bouncing. Each step I repeated my mantra, “I’m okay. I’m okay. I’m okay.” It’s funny since my husband had to climb the ladder in our first years of marriage to walk me down from a shorter height. Courage in my old age maybe?
