Carnival of Consumer Content

by Teresa Boardman, on 08 February 2007

Ncstatefair I have been remiss in not posting this sooner. We have a new carnival of real estate, Going on Parade with the Consumer-Oriented Carnival, by Toby Boyce  of Sadies Take on Delaware Ohio.  Blog carnivals are writing contest.  They are held weekly and there are hundreds of them.  There is a carnival of real estate but it favors content that is written for the real estate industry, not real estate content written by real estate professionals that is aimed at consumers.  In yesterdays magnificent 7 post I mentioned that my blog had never before won an award.  I don’t write for awards but do like them and would like to point out that my blog is unique and does not fit into any of the categories for which awards are given.  So now we have a carnival for blogs like mine.  Carnivals are good in that they create competition and push people to write great content.

I think Toby’s new carnival is a wonderful idea and I am told that I will be hosting the carnival here later in the month.  Congratulations to the winners:

  • Leading our parade is the Queen of Consumer-Oriented content Teresa Boardman and her St. Paul Real Estate Blog. In “Sellers, May We Talk?” Boardman highlights the importance of making it as easy as possible for the potential buyers to find your house – especially in winter when it gets dark earlier.
  • We move to the northeast for today’s first-runner up in today’s parade. Muffy Myles presented “Maine in Winter” on Newcastle Square Realty Blog and it was a leisurely trip during a “quiet off-season day” in Maine. Muffy had better be careful or those summer visitors might just stay.
  • Second-runner up takes us to the desert southwest and Jay Thompson’sDonkeys in the Desert!” from his blog, The Phoenix Real Estate Guy. The post takes us on a sandy journey through the Whispering Ranch and even includes photos of Jay taking his Jeep off-road!
