Bigger pockets, Joshua Dorkin, hosted this weeks carnival of real estate. He threw us all a curve by selecting consumer oriented real estate posts. His actions resulted in posts on other blogs questioning his judgment, and his right to throw us a curve ball and put such an unusual spin on the carnival or real estate. I found the whole thing interesting, maybe because my submission made the cut. It is fun and rewarding to blog to other REALTORS, and I do some posts that are aimed at my peers and at the real estate industry, but I have chosen to keep my St. Paul Real estate blog mostly about real estate and about St. Paul. Not an easy task!
There were comments on several real estate blogs about the carnival and the winners. One blog posted a list of the runners up, but not the winners. I found one blog that supported my post but one of the commenter’s pointed out the the piece is boring. Who cares about second hand smoke? Had I responded I would have pointed out the my blog as a wide variety of content.
The bloodhound blog stated that: "All weblogs are written by and for fanatics, and, with few exceptions — one of whom we will introduce to you tomorrow — there are very few fanatical real estate consumers. Swallow hard and get used to it." There were comments about this statement, which led to posts on other blogs. Some in favor of real estate bloggers writing about real estate and others opposed.
Thank you Joshua Dorkin, for all of your encouragement and support. I still think you have an awesome blog and remain in your fan club. If you have never seen the bigger pockets real estate investing for real blog, check it out. it is loaded with information about real estate and real estate investing. In my humble opinion it is a must have for all real estate bloggers blogrolls.
Thank you Sellsius , for your kind comments about my unzillowable subject matter. As always you stand out as the true gentlemen of the real estate blogosphere.
I have decided that next week I am going to enter the carnival of small business the posts are supposed to be about marketing small businesses on the internet.

Hey Teresa -
It seems like I stirred a bit of controversy this week, didn’t I? The distinction I’ve tried to make is between blogs about real estate (like yours) and those about technology, blogging, or the internet (like most of the other sites that have been winning the real estate carnival for the longest time).

It has become a personality contest, and there seems like there are a few cliques in the real estate blogging world. Its like high school all over! Tired of the nonsense, I set my own standards and went with my heart.
Why don’t you sling something for the Carnival of Marketing as well? I apparently am this week’s host… Goodness, more work.
