Where Does Blog Content Come From?
So far I have resisted the temptation to write about my blog, on my blog. For over 270 entries not a word from me about this topic, that has become such a big part of my life.
People ask me if the content I have on the St. Paul Real Estate Blog is my own and if it is original. I can answer yes to both questions. Occasionally I have someone else write or contribute but I credit the person in the post.
Blogfood(c) is a term that I just invented. Defined as any source of material or ideas that can be used to generate words for a blog. Here is a partial list of where to find blogfood(c)
- Read blogs -hint, use a news aggregator, or feed reader to quickly read 50 or more blogs.
- Go out to lunch with a friend
- Listen to what your children and parents, they have a different a perspective on just about everything.
- Teach a class – I can’t think of a better way to learn.
- Watch T.V. – city council meeting in these parts are entertaining, and HGTV has an unbeatable program line-up for real estate bloggers.
- Listen to customers and clients.
- Go to funerals, weddings and baptisms.
- Visit government web sites they are often packed with useful information, except for the most excellent IRS web site that mostly has information on how to pay taxes.
- Read Newspapers
- Walk the dog, or walk alone.

Talk to another Realtor about anything. I almost always leave every conversation with a blog topic. I think that I think too much.
#5 is a good one! I’m on the Ledyard, CT Town Council and we do provide plenty of Blog Food!! And on a regular basis.
